JulyChalfield Dog Training Club Companion Dog Show at East Leak Rugby and
Football Club, Costock Road, East Leake Organised by the training club
with proceeds coming to our branch. We will be there with our stall and hounds
promoting Greyhounds as great pets. Registration for the dog show starts at 10am
and entry for the dog show is £1.50 per class per dog for pedigree and obedience
classes and £1 per dog per class for the fun dog show. There even be a special
Greyhound only class! All are welcome, hope to see you there. August
Bank Holiday Weekend Sunday 24th and Monday 25th AugustMoorgreen Show Fun
Dog Show with greyhound class on the Monday. Entries taken from 11am each day
at the Dog Secretary's tent. Judging each day starts at 1pm Entry fee 50p per

2008 For those of you who attended last year, you will know what a great
success the day was. The location will hopefully be the same as last year at the
Nottingham Racecourse. More details
to follow, we will keep you posted…… There's usually a walk on the last
Sunday of each month. Duration of walks
will be between 3545 minutes. Walks start at 10:30am. All dogs to be on the lead
and please scoop the poop. Sunday 28th SeptemberRufford
Country Park 10.30am On the A614, 10 miles north of Nottingham before
Ollerton. Meet in the car park to the left of the pay kiosk for a walk through
the woods and round the lake. good coffee shop/restaurant. Entrance fe £3
per carthis entitles you to £3 reduction from any one transaction
of £15 or more at the shop of coffee shop.

7th JuneDerby Lions Club Allestree Gala A good day was had by
all with some old friends coming along. A big thank you once again to all

25th MayWollaton Park The forecast for Spring Bank Holiday weekend
did not deter hardy retired greyhound owners used to regular walks in all weathers
with their favourite hounds. Fortunately, the rain held off although it was very
windy. A highlight was seeing at close quarters a handsome male deer (with a very
impressive pair of antlers) who regarded our procession with interest. After the
photoshoot at the end of the walk we enjoyed a well deserved cup of coffee and
some cake at the Wollaton Park cafe, when we could discuss at our leisure when

a pleasant walk at Burnt Stump. | |

saw a good turnout for the walk followed by refreshments at the cafe. |  |

2008Rufford Park A large turnout on a mild
and sometimes sunny day at Rufford, with nearly 60 dogs plus owners, so about
120 people enjoyed a pleasant walk followed by tea/coffee and a natter. A few
are pictured coming towards the Abbey on the last part of the walk. |

Sherwood Forest Country Park 30th December About 50 greyhounds
turned up for our last walk before the New Year. |
Burnt Stump Hill Sunday 25th November A great new
walk for us, and the sun shone!

Rufford Country Park Sunday 30th SeptemberOur first
walk of the Autumn on a beautiful day saw a large turnout of adopters and their
greyhounds, including a few recently adopted greyhounds. One or two potential
adopters also joined us for the walk around the lake and back to the tea room.

Moorgreen ShowSunday
26th and Monday 27th August 2007We had our stall there on both days, promoting
greyhounds as pets. John Stirland stopped by and had his photo taken with Homer. A
big thank you once again to all our volunteers and supporters who brought along

Sunday 27th May 2007 Rufford
One of our favourite walks, although not in the rain! Despite the weather,
there was a good turnout for our last walk until September. | |
RSPCA Dog Walk, Dog Show
and Fun Day Sunday 20th May 2007 Wollaton Park We were there
with our stand and many people brought along their Greyhounds to show what great
pets they make. We made over £200 from the stall, and £30 from the
competition to win Homer the toy Greyhound. Thanks again to all volunteers and
supporters for their help. |  |

Sunday 29th April 2007 Gunthorpe A large turnout for a
pleasant walk along the river and back for tea and chat at the Gunthorpe Lock
Tea Rooms. |  |

College A grey and somewhat chilly start to the stroll through the
woods, followed by the usual stop at the coffee shop, when the sun eventually
broke through. |  |

25th February 2007 Wollaton Park Loads turned up for a pleasant
walk round Wollaton Park at the end of February, enjoying the relatively mild
day with the odd sunny spell. | |
SocialEpperstone Village Hall Food, wine, and quizzes were
followed by the prize draw (which raised £1,200 approx. A big thank you
to everyone who helped sell and bought tickets), and probably everyone's favourite
event a Donkey (well OK elephant, rabbit, duck etc.) Derby. |  |
