Raise Sponsorship
Lots of people will donate to a good cause if someone gives a lead—for example by undertaking a difficult task, or setting up a group to do something together. If you like a challenge, then why not think of something and make it happen? Get in touch and we'll give you all the support we can.
Donate
Rich? Generous? Both? Neither? Well, anyway, if you wish you can help save Greyhounds by making a donation. You can just donate as a one-off, or you can join the 250 Club, or set up your own regular donation, or include us in your will. Even very small amounts make a difference - it costs about £3 a day to keep a dog in kennels, so a few people each giving a few pence regularly can soon save a whole doggy life. By homing more and more, and by advertising and holding events, we hope to let more people know what great pets they are and that all Greyhounds do indeed deserve a life after racing. The Ethel Wainwright School
Some of the Year 5 pupils from The Ethel Wainwright School at Mansfield pay £1 each to participate in an After-School Activity Club, and they have kindly decided to donate the money raised to this charity. Three of our volunteers and four Greyhounds went along to the School in November 2005 to receive a cheque for £430 and to meet some of the children and their teacher Mrs Graney.
Fun Dog Show
Held in aid of RGT Saturday 10th September 2005 Held at "The Swallows" public house Warsop. The event, which was kindly organised by Andrea Barthorpe, raised funds in the region of £70.00. Body Shop
Thanks to Claire Buckley, who adopted Sally, who arranged and held a “Body Shop at Home” party on 1 April 2005 in aid of the RGT. Thanks to Claire and also Sally for showing just what great pets Greyhounds make!
Keep young and beautiful with a Greyhound
Adopter Julia Ross used walks with her nine-year-old Greyhound Foxy Emma to lose a few pounds, and helped us by getting sponsored. "Emma sets me an example", says Julia, "by being so slim and elegant. Walking with a Greyhound makes you want to live up to them!" Julia lost 28 pounds, leaving her, as you see, in shape to be seen with even the most demanding Greyhound! Her generous family and friends, and colleagues at Pink Home Loans, sponsored her for over £200, a real help with our activities finding more homes and spreading the word about Greyhounds. Here is Julia presenting the cheque to Philip at one of our events. Foxy Emma, who of course is always in shape, enjoyed the occasion too!
Office Application
This is 'BT Jack' with some of a group of 22 colleagues at BT Nottingham, who each give 25p a week to keep him in in contented retirement with Kathryn and Robert (centre). They supporters visit 'BT Jack' and occasionally Jack has a trip out to the office in Nottingham where they all work.
Swimathon
Bethan and Jamie Dinning raised a whopping £220 by swimming three miles and one mile respectively, and getting sponsorship for it. Dad's generous workmates deserve a big pat on the back, too.
Race for Life
Helen Roberts completed 'Race for Life' in memory of Robert Hallam, founder of the Retired Greyhound Trust Woodborough Branch. Annie, adopted by Helen, was the first dog to be rehomed by Robert through RGT Woodborough some 7 years ago (as of 2006).
Helen ran the 5 kilometre race in 30 minutes on a very hot Sunday 4th June 2006 at Victoria Embankment, Nottingham and with lots of generous support, managed to raise £375 in aid of cancer research. Many, many thanks to you all for your much appreciated help and support. Special thanks go to Kathryn Hallam for making this such a memorable event.

Examples of good people and their generosity...
Thanks to Karen and Andy Green and their dogs Millie and George who organised a car boot sale on behalf of the branch. They sold £100 worth of goods on the day and sent all their proceeds to us, thanks very much.
