Sunday 28th November--Elvaston Castle Walk A relatively small but very enthusiastic group of greyhounds and their adopters turned out in the bitterly cold conditions for a brisk walk around the grounds. All dogs and humans were suitably dressed for the extreme conditions, some even braving the cold weather to stay on for hot coffee and sausage rolls! |

Saturday 20th November, Meet & Greet, Pets at Home, Giltbrook A very busy day at Pets at Home Giltbrook, but staff welcomed us and accommodated us inside the store – always a blessing on a cold windy day.
Bearing in mind that the store were also promoting Children In Need we collected an excellent £110 in donations and £25.70 in merchandise.
Our hounds behaved very well except when a very large and energetic six-month old rottweiler-cross pup came bounding into the store and totally bewildered our laid back hounds.
Thanks to all those who turned out to support this event and especially to their very well behaved dogs who welcomed all the other dogs visiting the store: Flick, Billy, Pebbles, Polly, Murphy, Connor, Bob, Grace and Tia.

We had one accident, but a member of staff quickly came along with the mop! Thanks to all those who turned out to support this event and especially to their very well behaved dogs who welcomed all the other dogs visiting the store: Flick, Pebbles, Merry, Bale and Memo. |

Saturday 18th September Great Greyhound Gathering. The Great Greyhound Gathering was a wonderful event once again. Our enthusiastic team arrived super early and soon had three gazebos erected and all our wares on show. Business was brisk throughout the day and we even managed to arrange a couple of homechecks which was an extra bonus. It was great to see support for our cause from lots of our adopters and their hounds at this annual event.
A special thanks to all our volunteers and their extra special hounds, who gave up their day to help out.
We raised a total of £800.00 with our two stalls. |

Sunday 12th September A great fun day was had by all at our second visit to this annual dog show. It was good to see some old friends and some very new faces and to see such a large variety of dogs, and if there had been a prize for the best behaved dogs our greyhounds would have won it hands down. One of our greyhounds also won first place in the Fastest Recall competition. Well done to Logan who showed the assembled crowds what greyhounds are built for. Thanks to all our visiting hounds Cindy, Wanda, Fluke, Ellie, Rosie, Hugo, Bob, Grace, Logan, Molly and special thanks to Bella who visited with her adopter Dennis on only her second day in her new home. We took £172.00 in merchandise sales and £12.82 in donations. |

Sunday 29th and Monday 30th August This was a tale of two shows, one cold wet and very windy, the other bright, breezy with plentiful crowds. The Sunday was horrendous, the wind and rain the overiding feature with hardly any visitors to the show or indeed our stall. We decided by 2pm with four of our volunteers having to hold the gazebo down it was too dangerous to carry on and we gave in to the weather and would give it another go the following day. What a contrast on the Monday, the weather was kind and we were kept busy selling merchandise and answering queries from prospective adopters. George and Milly two of our greyhounds in attendance took time out from their busy schedule to take joint first place in the greyhound class in the dog show. Congratulations to you both! Congratulations also go to Monty for taking third place. Special thanks once again go to our intrepid hounds, Bob, Grace, Polly, Hugo, Scooby, Logan, Molly, Monty, George and Milly. I will leave you to guess on which day each photo was taken! We took £277.25 in merchandise sales and £61.18 in donations |

The hounds were nicely sheltered in the shade during the morning, but had to be "sent home" later in the afternoon as the sun moved round. Through the generosity of the customers we raised £60 from the collection and sold £40 worth of merchandise. In addition, the manager kindly donated some charity food for our 250 club kennels. Our thanks also go to the greyhounds on duty: Billy, Bob, Grace and Levi and to the lady who kindly gave Billy a squeaky ball. |

Monday 3rd May-Hatton Fete The weather was mixed this Bank Holiday Monday, but we had a lot of visitors to our stall and they all received a warm welcome and shelter from the heavy rain when it arrived. We had a special visit from Arnie, who has not been very well recently, but thoroughly enjoyed his day out and a catch up on the gossip with his Greyhound friends. Logan was the 'new boy on the block' who was only homed last Wednesday, but has settled into domesticity very quickly and all the Greyhouds gave him a warm welcome into the group. Poor Polly though, she had to stay at home today as she was recovering from an operation following an accident on Saturday, but is recovering very well at home as you can see from her photograph and she sent her Mum to represent her on the day. Thank you to all the Greyhounds who visited the stall with their adopters, including Arnie and Molly, Bob and Grace, Millie and George, Hugo, Logan, Harry, Lucy and to all the other doggie visitors to the stall we have not mentioned.
